An exclusive look at the Hermès Birkin Sellier 20 Faubourg in Rainy Days
Most people list Hermès as their ultimate holy grail brand. Within Hermès, the Himalaya Birkin was often the specific bag that was the Ultimate Holy Grail. But that has shifted in the past few years, with Faubourg becoming the newest and most sought-after Hermès bag.
Enter The Hermès Faubourg
In 2019, the first two Birkin 20 Faubourgs were introduced: Day and Night. Following their wild success in 2021, Midnight and Snow followed. And for 2024, we were graced with Disco and Rainy Days. The design, also called the House Birkin, is modeled on the iconic flagship storefront in Paris, 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

The bag integrates different leathers and materials to create the appearance of the flagship store with its windows and awnings. Each colorway plays off of different seasons and times of day, with colors that correlate.
While we have seen these bags spotted on celebrities and auction sites, seeing one up close and personal is rare. Even more rare is seeing one of the newest versions, but last week, my luck changed when longtime PurseForum member Bullies n Birkins, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a few times, met me for lunch with her new beauty.

Rainy Days Faubourg
With hues that tie back to rainy Parisian days, one of the newest Faubourgs brings the grey skies without any of the sadness that correlates.
Created from five leathers and five colors, the Rainy Days Faubourg comes to life. The hardware is Permabrass, and an additional nice touch is the clochette, which is shaped like a Hermès shopping bag.
No detail was left out in the creation of this bag!
- Gris Ciment Matte Gator – flap, handles, sangles
- Gris Misty Epsom – the body of the bag
- Craie Epsom – Windows
- Orange Swift – Awnings
- Noir/Black Veau Sombrero – Trim
- Gris Misty Chevre – Interior

Being offered one of these bags is incredibly rare, with few being produced and when they are offered, it is to very select clients. The second-hand market typically sees a couple of these bags offered for around $200,000 and, at times, up to $400,000.
However, the retail price of the bag is $32,300 before tax.
